Thompson Beach reopened in Paraná ahead of summer season

The Municipality of Paraná has officially opened Thompson Beach to allow residents and tourists to enjoy the river ahead of the summer season. The decision follows recent hydrological forecasts and improved water quality reports.

To ensure safety, the city has installed 200 meters of buoy lines to delimit swimming areas and has deployed lifeguards daily from 8:00 to 20:00. Additional improvements include repaired facilities, conditioned showers, and the provision of free lounge chairs and seating.

Mayor Rosario Romero noted that recent water quality tests yielded impeccable results, attributing the improvement to recent sanitation works conducted on the Las Viejas stream. Xavier Bilbao, coordinator of the Planning and Infrastructure Secretariat, stated that the opening is also supported by the latest report from the National Institute of Water (INA), which modified previous flood forecasts for the coming weeks.
