Thompson draws 27,000 fans to Šibenik concert on Oluja anniversary

Marko Perković Thompson performed at Šubićevac stadium in Šibenik on 5 August 2026, his first concert in the city after 13 years. The event coincided with the 31st anniversary of the 1995 Operation Oluja and the national Day of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving, attracting roughly 27‑30 000 attendees.

Thompson opened with “Bojna Čavoglave”, lit Croatian flags, and delivered an emotional speech thanking the 142nd Drniš Reconnaissance Brigade and other veterans, while urging the many young fans present to become future guardians of the nation’s heritage. During the show two brief medical interruptions occurred when a visitor fell ill and later a female attendee required assistance; the singer halted the performance and called for emergency help. Despite fire‑safety warnings, some audience members lit flares.

The concert was widely photographed and filmed, with images of the large crowd, fireworks, and the singer’s remarks circulating in Croatian media.
