Thompson concert in Frankfurt to exclude controversial wartime songs

The scheduled concert of singer Marko Perković Thompson in Frankfurt on November 13 will not include songs from the 1990s war era that have drawn public criticism.

Following calls from several German political parties to ban the performance, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) announced that organizers have informed city council members that controversial wartime songs will be excluded from the setlist. CDU representatives Anita Akmadžuda and Christian Becker stated that, based on current information, there is no valid reason to cancel the concert, provided that no legal violations occur.

The CDU emphasized a distinction between Croatian patriotism and the glorification of fascism, noting that while they stand firmly against extremism, accusations must be based on verifiable facts.
