Thompson concert prompts traffic restrictions in Šibenik and raises security concerns in Vukovar

Ahead of Marko Perković Thompson’s concert in Šibenik on 4–5 August 2026, the city issued a temporary traffic regulation. Major streets, including Đure Đakovića, Ban Josipa Jelačića and sections of the state road D8, were closed to private vehicles, with public transport routes adjusted and drivers urged to use alternative routes. The measures remain in force until the event concludes and are intended to manage the expected large crowds.

A separate planned Thompson concert in Vukovar, slated for 29 August, has sparked political debate. Representatives of Croatia’s Serbian community, including SDSS member Peđa Mišić, expressed security worries and suggested some Serb residents might temporarily leave the town on concert day. Critics cited past incidents involving nationalist symbols at Thompson’s shows, while organizers stressed the event’s humanitarian purpose and compliance with regulations.
