Thompson-Nicola Regional District announces 2026 local elections

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has announced that a general local election will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The election aims to select one Director for each of the following ten Electoral Areas for a four-year term beginning November 19, 2026: Wells Gray Country, Thompson Headwaters, Bonaparte Plateau, Blue Sky Country, Copper Desert Country, Grasslands, Beautiful Nicola Valley (North and South), Lower North Thompson, and Rivers and the Peaks.

The nomination period for candidates will run from 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, until 4:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2026. Applications can be submitted via email, mail, fax, or in person by appointment at the TNRD office in Kamloops, BC.
