Thompson Spencer appoints Oliver King as Managing Partner: Strategy

Thompson Spencer has appointed Oliver King as Managing Partner: Strategy. King, who previously served as Head of Strategy at Spark Foundry and held leadership roles at OMD, Ikon Communications, and Carat, will oversee the agency’s strategic direction across its entire client portfolio.

In his new capacity, King will integrate media strategy with a creative lens to manage how ideas evolve across various channels. Group CEO Melanie Spencer noted King’s ability to connect brands, people, culture, and commercial opportunities.

The appointment follows several recent successes for Thompson Spencer, including being named agency of record for Honda New Zealand and being selected by Musashi to lead its expansion into the Middle East. Other recent client wins include New Zealand Police, Michael Hill Jeweller, and First Table in London.
