Thore Schölermann Finds Blood in Car After Local Break‑in

German TV moderator Thore Schölermann discovered extensive blood stains inside his car in the Cologne area. He initially thought the person was seriously injured and called emergency services. Surveillance footage showed an unknown man entering the vehicle, prompting a large police response that included eight patrol cars, drones, a search dog and fire‑brigade units.

Further investigation revealed the man had broken into several nearby cars, causing damage and apparently injuring himself before accessing Schölermann’s vehicle. A neighbour’s video captured the suspect retrieving a backpack from a bush. Schölermann admitted he had left his car unlocked, describing it as a personal mistake. The Cologne police have opened an investigation, but no further details on the suspect identity or condition have been released.
