Thornton Academy and Yarmouth lead Varsity Maine football polls

Thornton Academy and Yarmouth have both secured unanimous No. 1 rankings in the Week 3 Varsity Maine football polls.

In the 11-man football category, Thornton Academy remains the top-ranked team with nine first-place votes. Bonny Eagle holds the second position, followed by Portland in third. Oxford Hills moved up to fifth place, while Noble entered the top 10 rankings this week.

In the eight-man football category, Yarmouth has become the unanimous No. 1 after an 82-40 victory over Cape Elizabeth. This win follows previous victories against Lake Region and Spruce Mountain. Old Orchard Beach follows Yarmouth in second place, with Old Town in third.
