Threatening messages cause panic in Italian schools
Threatening messages circulating on social media and messaging apps have caused widespread alarm and disrupted school attendance in several Italian locations. In the Monza and Brianza province, a high school reported only four out of 24 students present in a classroom following the spread of WhatsApp messages threatening attacks on various local institutions.
In Senigallia, students were targeted by a wave of digital alarmism involving violent imagery, lists of names, and graphic content, some of which appeared to use artificial intelligence to increase realism. While no physical attacks were reported, the messages caused significant distress among adolescents and their families. Law enforcement responded by providing increased surveillance and presence at school premises to ensure public safety and address the concerns of parents.
