Three arrested for assaulting enforcement officer during illegal parking crackdown

Three men, aged between 20 and 26, have been arrested following an alleged assault on a female enforcement officer during a crackdown on illegal parking operations in Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur.

The incident occurred on 15 August after the suspects allegedly ignored a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) notice issued on 4 August to cease illegal parking fee collection. According to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, the confrontation escalated when the suspects challenged the presence of enforcement officials and residents' representatives.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed that the 38-year-old victim reported being subjected to abusive remarks, a punch to the head, and threats of further assault and workplace disruption. All three suspects reportedly have prior criminal records. They are being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.

Following the arrests, police have deployed patrol officers to the Jalan Klang Lama area to monitor the parking lot and prevent further unauthorized fee collection.
