Three arrested in Dhaka Elevated Expressway murder case

Police and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested three individuals, including a bus driver, in connection with the murder of 50-year-old Ismail Hossain. His body was discovered on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway in Banani with scotch tape covering his mouth.

Investigations revealed that Hossain was traveling from Jamalpur to Gazipur after selling land. He was reportedly carrying 500,000 BDT from the sale. Authorities believe he was strangled and robbed of the money before his body was dumped on the expressway.

Following a joint operation at the Mohakhali bus terminal, police arrested the driver of the Dhaka-Jamalpur route bus, Sohel Rana, along with an assistant, Monir, and a supervisor, Saju. The bus involved in the incident, a ‘Raj Classic’, has been seized. The suspects have been handed over to the Banani Police Station.
