Three-Body: Eve of Judgment game announced using generative AI

Timeline has announced 'Three-Body: Eve of Judgment', an officially licensed single-player adventure game based on Liu Cixin’s science fiction novel 'The Three-Body Problem'. The game’s Steam store page was launched on October 24, revealing that all in-game cutscenes and story videos are produced using generative AI.

Set during the eve of 'Operation Guzheng', the narrative follows Chen Anjiu, a former special forces member, as he infiltrates the 'Judgment Day', a massive ship belonging to the Earth-Trisolaris Organization (ETO). Players must navigate conflicting factions within the ETO—including the Adventists, Salvationists, and Survivalists—while conducting a rescue mission.

The game features a branching narrative where player decisions regarding dialogue and actions influence character fates and story endings. The estimated playtime is over 300 minutes (approximately five hours). While a release date has not been set, the developer has indicated a target release in the first quarter of 2027. Currently, the game is available for wishlisting on Steam and supports Simplified Chinese.
