Three Bulgarian Men Caught Stealing 22 Carps in Schwandorf, Germany
On Sunday morning between 07:00 and 08:35, a car registered in Regensburg was parked near ponds in the Holzhaus district of Schwandorf. A resident observed three men fleeing the site and alerted the Schwandorf police. The three suspects, aged 31, 25 and 48, are Bulgarian nationals living in the Regensburg area and had no fishing licences. They had prepared about 22 class‑III carp (1.0‑2.3 kg each) for removal. Police confiscated their fishing rods, charged them with theft, violations of the Bavarian fishing law and an animal‑welfare offence. The live carp that had not been killed were returned to the pond.
