Three Denmark expands 5G network with 130 new mast sites

Mobile operator Three (3) announced that it is halfway through its 2026 rollout plan to install 130 new 5G mast positions across Denmark. About 70‑80 of the new sites will be equipped with the high‑speed C‑band, which delivers faster and more stable connections.

The upgrade aims to improve coverage and capacity, particularly outside the larger cities, supporting growing data demand from streaming, gaming, and Internet‑of‑Things services. The company already achieved 99 % population coverage with 5G in 2025 and sees the additional masts as essential for future traffic. Network chief Kim Christensen noted that customer data consumption continues to rise year over year, prompting the investment.

The deployment is part of Three’s broader effort to strengthen the nationwide mobile network and ensure Denmark is prepared for future 5G‑driven applications.
