Three detained after body of missing woman found in Valle de Chalco

The body of Jazmín Adriana Méndez Contreras, a 38-year-old mother of two, was discovered in a vacant lot in the San Miguel Xico neighborhood of Valle de Chalco, showing signs of violence. She had been reported missing since September 27, after last being seen near the Ecatepec Metro station while reportedly attempting to collect money from her former partner.

Authorities have detained three individuals in connection with the case: Francisco “N” (75), Clementina “N” (47), and Carlos Arturo “N” (42). The latter has been identified by the victim's family as her former partner.

Family members have criticized the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía mexiquense), alleging that authorities failed to intervene in the area even after being provided with cell phone tracking data that pointed toward the location where the body was eventually found. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of her death and establish legal responsibility.
