Three Dhaka Central Jail inmates die at Dhaka Medical College Hospital

Three inmates from Dhaka Central Jail have died while receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The deaths occurred at separate times on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Abul Bashar (58), Abdul Kaiyum (62), and Md. Shahadat Hossain Liton (52). Among the deceased, two were detainees (hajati) and one was a convict. The time interval between the deaths of the two detainees was reported to be 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Abul Bashar, from Chandpur, was being held in connection with a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Abdul Kaiyum, from Cumilla, was held on eight different cases. Md. Shahadat Hossain Liton, from Khulna, had been admitted to the hospital's medicine department on August 28 and died on Sunday morning. The bodies have been moved to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
