Three former Bra footballers convicted of group sexual violence

The Asti court has convicted three former Bra Calcio players for the group sexual assault of a university student in Piedmont. The incident occurred on May 30, 2025, during celebrations for the team's promotion to Serie C.

Fausto Perseu and Alessio Rosa were sentenced to four years and two months in prison, while Christ Jesus Mawete received a sentence of three years and eight months. The prosecution established that the victim was coerced into a group sexual encounter at an apartment after meeting the players at a local venue.

Evidence included technical analysis of mobile phones and communications within a team chat group. Alessio Rosa also faced charges related to revenge porn for sharing a video of the incident on a team chat. The defendants maintained that the encounter was consensual, but the court found the victim's account credible.
