Three former Flex-trafik directors acquitted in Denmark

Three former directors of a Flex-trafik company from the Aarhus area have been acquitted by the Odense Court of charges involving COVID-19 subsidy fraud and the emptying of company assets.

The prosecution had alleged that the individuals, aged 44, 47, and 48, had stripped the transport company of its value to the detriment of creditors, including the Danish Tax Agency and Danske Bank. The prosecution had sought prison sentences of three and a half years and a fine of 5.5 million DKK for two of the defendants.

The case centered on a 1.4 million DKK application for COVID-19 relief funds in April 2020. Prosecutors argued that the company falsely claimed drivers were being sent home when they had actually been transferred to another entity, LS Busser, which was owned by Salah Salem Al-Badri. The company subsequently entered bankruptcy with debts totaling 3.3 million DKK.
