Three former Real Madrid players sentenced for child pornography

Three former Real Madrid academy players, Ferrán Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García, have accepted a one-year prison sentence for child pornography. The conviction stems from a sexual video recorded in June 2023 at a beach club in Gran Canaria, involving a victim who was 16 years old at the time.

The sentence will be suspended on the condition that the defendants do not reoffend within the next two years and complete sexual education training. Additionally, the three men face a two-year restraining order regarding the victim and a three-year disqualification from working in professions involving contact with minors.

Raúl Asencio, a current Real Madrid first-team defender, was acquitted of the charge of revealing secrets after the victims confirmed they forgave all four individuals “by their own will” and “so that this ends.” The prosecution agreed to withdraw the charges against Asencio and apply mitigating circumstances to the more serious charges against his former teammates.
