Three Kerala teachers arrested in MDMA drug network probe
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Kozhikode Rural Police has arrested a third teacher, V.P. Neeshma, a special educator at the Perambra Block Resource Centre, linking three educators to an MDMA trafficking network in Kerala. Earlier arrests included physical‑education teacher Keerthana and special educator K. Kavya, both dismissed by the General Education Department. Police say the teachers used an Instagram account and a Gulf‑based contact number to arrange sales, sharing QR‑code payment details and location photos for drug pickups. Financial investigations uncovered transactions worth lakhs of rupees flowing into the teachers' bank accounts. All three were reported as regular users of synthetic drugs. The SIT is probing the source of the narcotics, the full financial trail, and whether additional teachers are involved in the racket.
