Russian attacks on Kyiv’s Browary suburb kill three, including a child FAST-MOVING
On the night of 8 August 2026 Russian airstrikes hit the eastern Kyiv suburb of Browary. The attacks used ballistic missiles, drones and glide‑bombs. Ukrainian authorities reported at least three fatalities – two adults and one child – and three injuries (two adults and a child). A residential building, several other structures and cars were damaged. The strike follows a recent attack on a railway station in Browary that killed eight people.
Ukraine says it lacks sufficient Patriot missile ammunition to intercept such ballistic missiles. President Volodymyr Zelensky told the National Security and Defence Council that partner countries have reduced Patriot deliveries, officially citing the Middle‑East war but possibly also political motives. The shortage hampers Ukraine’s air‑defence and raises concerns about further civilian damage and reconstruction costs, especially as the attacks also target civilian infrastructure and logistics corridors.
