Three men fined $9,000 for hunting violations in Ontario

Three men from Grey County and Chatham-Kent have been fined a total of $9,000 after pleading guilty to various hunting violations occurring between the 2023 and 2025 seasons.

The investigation, conducted by the Ministry of Natural Resources, began in September 2025 following inconsistencies found in wild game records. In November 2025, conservation officers discovered an untagged deer at a hunt camp west of Lucknow in Huron County.

A man from Grey County received a $1,500 fine for enabling the unlawful use of a hunting licence and possessing an untagged deer. Two men from Chatham-Kent were fined $4,000 and $3,500, respectively. Their charges included unlawfully hunting in controlled areas, possessing another person’s deer tag, possessing deer without tags, and making false statements in official documents.
