Three men jailed for £170,000 watch robbery in Mayfair

Three men have been sentenced to prison following a robbery in London's Mayfair district, where they stole a diamond-encrusted Richard Mille watch valued at approximately £170,000 from fashion entrepreneur Catalin Botezatu.

The attack occurred on January 28 outside the Amazonico restaurant in Berkeley Square. The victim, who has previously undergone major heart surgery, reported being restrained and pushed against a fence while the thieves used a sharp object to slice the watch strap from his wrist.

At Southwark Crown Court, Younes Djoudi, 34, was sentenced to five years and nine months. Abdel El Habchi, 30, received five years and six months, and Ali Eldahouzze, 22, was jailed for three years and six months. The sentences represent a combined total of more than 14 years.

Judge Dafna Spiro remarked that such high-value robberies are a “blight” on London, noting that they damage the city's international reputation and public confidence.
