Three motorcyclists killed in separate accidents in Santa Catarina
A motorcyclist died after his vehicle struck a concrete barrier and a light post on the SC-401 highway near Florianópolis on the early hours of Tuesday, 28th. The rider, riding a Honda Bros, suffered a fatal neck injury and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police found no evidence of another vehicle’s involvement.
Two university students, Cristian Bittencourt Esmeraldino (20) and Maria Eduarda Muraro (20), were killed in a collision involving two motorcycles on the BR‑101 near Içara on Saturday, 25th. The pair were traveling to a motorcyclists' pilgrimage when their Suzuki collided with a Yamaha ridden by another couple; the other riders survived with injuries. The victims were students at the Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina.
Both incidents prompted emergency response from fire brigades and medical services, and investigations by local police and forensic teams.
