Three Rivers Land Trust secures $11 million for North Carolina land conservation
Three Rivers Land Trust has been awarded $11 million from state and federal government partners to facilitate the permanent conservation of over 1,500 acres of agricultural land across the central Piedmont and Sandhills regions of North Carolina. This initiative aims to combat the rapid loss of farmland due to low-density residential development.
As part of the Save Tuckertown campaign, the trust has secured 200 acres in Davidson County along the Tuckertown Reservoir. These lands, which include a mature oak forest, will remain undeveloped and publicly accessible. The long-term goal is to transfer ownership of these lands to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission to ensure continued recreational access.
