Three siblings die in Johor motorcycle accident

Three siblings died in a motorcycle accident in Pontian, Johor, on the morning of October 8, 2026. The victims, aged 18, 11, and 8, were traveling to school to verify if classes were actually canceled due to regional haze.

Despite being informed by their mother that schools in Johor were closed, the two younger children insisted on going to school. Their older brother, 18-year-old Nor Daniel Aiman Norlizan, drove them on a motorcycle to confirm the closure. After arriving at Sekolah Kebangsaan Parit Sapran and finding it closed, the siblings began their journey home.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., the motorcycle collided with a Hino lorry traveling in the opposite direction on Jalan Kampung Parit Haji Siraj. The two younger passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, while the eldest brother died while being transported to Pontian Hospital. Local authorities have arranged counseling sessions for the grieving family.
