Three siblings drown after canoe capsizes at Kano's Tiga Dam

Three siblings, identified as Murjanatu, Atikatu, and Bilkisu (also known as Amira), drowned after their canoe capsized at Tiga Dam in the Tudunwada Local Government Area of Kano State. The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The victims were members of the Yalwan Rugu-Rugu community. Sa’adatu Salisu Soja, the Chairperson of Tudunwada Local Government Area, issued a condolence message expressing grief over the loss and praying for the families of the deceased.

While the local government confirmed the tragedy, the Kano State Fire Service spokesperson, Saminu Abdullahi, stated that the agency had not received an official report of the incident and only became aware through media reports and the chairperson's statement.
