Benue State kidnappers hold two siblings, release driver and mother's corpse

Three siblings travelling from Abuja to their hometown in Benue State with their late mother's body were abducted by armed men on the Ogobia–Otukpo Road in Ohimini Local Government Area early on Saturday. The kidnappers also seized the family’s driver. Subsequent releases saw the driver, the mother's corpse and one of the siblings freed, while the remaining two siblings remain in captivity. The abductors are demanding a ransom of ₦30 million for their release. Local officials, including Ohimini LGA Chairman Gabriel Adole, confirmed the incident and said he was on his way to the scene to ascertain what happened. Security operatives have been deployed to the bush to rescue the remaining victims, but the Benue State Police Command has not issued an official statement.
