Three Suspects Arrested in Organized Retail Theft at New Jersey Mall
Paramus police arrested three out‑of‑state suspects after they attempted fraudulent returns at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. The trio—Johnny W. Ewell of Philadelphia, Sylvette Sharon Wynn of Wilmington, Delaware, and Deshun G. Singleton of Media, Pennsylvania—were caught trying to exchange stolen clothing from stores such as Nordstrom, Lululemon and Alo for gift cards. Officers seized more than $3,300 in stolen merchandise, including items from Lululemon, Nordstrom, Walmart and Uniqlo, as well as a black Glock 42 pellet gun, a passport, drivers’ licenses and a bottle of oxycodone pills. Police described the suspects as part of an organized retail theft crew and charged them with multiple offenses, including possession of a weapon.
