Three suspects arrested in Turkey's 2013 Ağrı missing‑person case
Turkish authorities reopened the 2013 disappearance of Nesim B. in Ağrı province. After reviewing 33 camera recordings, about 220 hours of KGYS footage, telecom data and extensive field work, a coordinated operation was launched on 22 June. Simultaneous raids were carried out in Ağrı, Ankara, İzmir, Konya and Manisa, resulting in five detainees.
Of the five, three were placed in pre‑trial detention. S.K. and M.K.Y. were sentenced for intentional homicide, while H.K. was released under judicial control. D.B. was released outright. Further investigation revealed that S.K. had prior convictions, leading to his immediate transfer to a correctional facility after the court’s decision. The Ağrı Police Directorate confirmed that the inquiry remains ongoing.
