Three suspects charged in fatal kidnapping in Huehuetoca

The State of Mexico Attorney General's Office has secured a court order to formally link three individuals to a kidnapping process that resulted in the death of a victim. The suspects have been identified as Arturo “N”, Israel “N”, and Joel Efrén “N”, the latter of whom is a former municipal police officer from Nicolás Romero.

The incident occurred on January 3, 2024, in the Portal del Sol neighborhood of Huehuetoca. According to investigators, the victim was on a public street with another person when five individuals arrived in a black pickup truck. Three of the suspects reportedly exited the vehicle, with one using a firearm to threaten the victims.
