Three suspects in Belgian police officer's murder arrested in Almeria
Spanish authorities in Almeria have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the killing of a Belgian police officer, Nordine el Talbi. The suspects were intercepted by the Guardia Civil while attempting to board a vessel bound for Morocco to evade capture.
The incident occurred in the Jette area of Brussels on October 13, after Officer el Talbi located a vehicle previously reported stolen during a robbery in Tubize. Preliminary investigations suggest the officer was killed by a gunshot to the head and that the perpetrator may be a teenager aged 16 or 17, who was previously detained at a railway station in Paris.
The operation was the result of international police and judicial cooperation between Spain, Belgium, and France. Following the arrests, a European Investigation Order was issued to search a residence linked to the suspects for further evidence. A total of six people have been detained in connection with the case.
