Three Teenagers Die After Rocky Trapping Incident on Spain’s L’Arabasa Beach

Three teenagers – a 12‑year‑old and two 13‑year‑olds – died after becoming trapped in a rocky area near L’Arabasa beach in the municipality of Tarragona, northeastern Spain. The accident occurred on Friday when a group of youths were swimming in the Cova del Gos zone between L’Arabasa and El Miracle. Six swimmers entered the area; three managed to reach the shore on their own, while the other three required rescue teams. The 12‑year‑old died on the day of the incident despite resuscitation attempts, and the two 13‑year‑olds were taken to Joan XXIII Hospital in critical condition. One of the hospitalized teens later succumbed, bringing the death toll to three.

The tragedy prompted the Tarragona municipal council to declare official mourning, and local authorities and residents expressed condolences, describing it as one of the most serious incidents recorded on Catalan beaches at the start of the swimming season.
