Three Young Men Killed in Weld County, Colorado Crash

On July 25‑26, 2026, a single‑vehicle crash involving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe occurred on Weld County Road 80 near County Road 39, east of Ault in Weld County, Colorado. The vehicle was carrying five young men travelling at high speed. It left the road, re‑entered, rolled several times and ejected all occupants.

Three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene: a 19‑year‑old and a 20‑year‑old from Eaton and a 19‑year‑old from Greeley. The 20‑year‑old driver from Wyoming was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, and a fourth 19‑year‑old passenger from Eaton sustained minor injuries. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating, noting speed as a possible factor while the exact cause remains undetermined. The eastbound lane of Road 80 was closed for about six hours during the initial investigation.

Local authorities, including the Weld County Coroner’s Office, will release identities after notifying families, and the Eaton School District has offered crisis counseling to the community.
