Three‑dimensional Pope Francis mural unveiled in Satriano, Italy

On 7 August 2026, Satriano in Calabria, Italy, inaugurated a new three‑dimensional mural dedicated to Pope Francis. The artwork, created by local artist Pepè Codispoti, is formed from interlaced iron rods that generate shifting perspectives of the Pope’s face as viewers move past it. Light and shadow interact with the metal structure, giving the piece a dynamic, sculptural quality.

The ceremony was attended by mayor Massimiliano Chiaravalloti, parish priest Don Francesco Marino, architect Antonio Riverso and numerous residents.
