Thrissur hosts Red Run marathon for HIV/AIDS awareness

As part of the Yuvajagaran 2026 initiative, a 5 KM ‘Red Run’ marathon was held on August 1, 2026, at Thoppu Stadium in Thrissur. The event aimed to raise awareness regarding HIV/AIDS among college students.

The program was organized through the leadership of the District Medical Office (Health), the District AIDS Control Office, the National Health Mission, and the National Service Scheme (NSS). The marathon included 57 participating college students and was flagged off by Dr. Jilsho George, the District Programme Manager for Arogyakeralam.

Officials in attendance included Dr. Ratil, the District AIDS Control Officer, and various representatives from the District Education Media Office. The event served as a platform to encourage youth engagement in health promotion, social responsibility, and community awareness initiatives.
