Thrive Capital discloses $215 million Amazon stake and SpaceX holdings

Joshua Kushner’s venture capital firm, Thrive Capital, has disclosed significant updates to its investment portfolio in regulatory filings. The firm has established a new position in Amazon, holding 904,038 shares valued at approximately $215 million as of June 30. This move is viewed as part of a broader strategy to expand public-market holdings in large technology and AI-driven companies.

SpaceX remains the largest holding in Thrive Capital’s portfolio, with a stake valued at roughly $3.23 billion. Other notable positions maintained by the firm include Oscar Health, Shopify, and Figma. The filings also indicate that the firm has fully exited its investments in Carvana and StubHub.

Additionally, reports indicate that a Thrive Capital fund, which initially started with $516 million in 2022, has seen its value rise to over $3.7 billion, driven in part by investments in OpenAI. The firm is also reportedly negotiating a partial sale of its OpenAI position. These developments come as Kushner and former Disney CEO Bob Iger, who serves as an advisor to Thrive, recently agreed to acquire the Los Angeles Lakers in a $12.5 billion deal.
