Throne Science Secures $10 Million Series A to Advance AI‑Powered Smart Toilet Sensor
Throne Science, an Austin‑based startup, announced a $10 million Series A round led by Will Ventures and backed by a cohort of investors including Emerson Collective, Workshop, Lead VC and others. The funding will be used to grow the team and develop the next generation of its AI‑driven smart toilet sensor that attaches to a standard toilet and continuously monitors gut health, hydration and urinary function.
The device uses computer‑vision and machine‑learning to generate personalized health insights, and a beta version of a Gut Health AI Coach launched earlier this year allows users to query their data. Throne’s long‑term aim is to explore whether the continuous data stream could help detect early signs of colorectal and urinary cancers, though regulatory clearance would be required. New executive hires include Ben Grynol (VP of Growth), David Strasfeld (SVP of R&D) and Dr. Karan Rajan (Chief of Science).
