Thrupp & Maberly launches bespoke motor‑car atelier in Coventry

Thrupp & Maberly, one of Britain’s oldest coachbuilders dating back to the 18th century, has been re‑established as a contemporary coachbuilding atelier in Coventry. The company is owned by a partnership between Brendan O’Toole and Lars Carlstrom and employs around sixty craftsmen and specialists.

The new operation will produce ultra‑low‑volume, fully bespoke motor cars, handcrafted interiors and private commissions for an international clientele. It will not build heritage replicas; instead it will create original contemporary grand‑touring cars, the first of which is codenamed “Project Mayfair.” Further details are expected later this autumn.
