Thu Le Park redevelopment plan may require relocation of 37 households
Hanoi is proposing a detailed master plan adjustment for Thu Le Park to transform it into a special thematic park. The project aims to combine wildlife conservation, green space development, and public amenities.
The 19-hectare study area in Giang Vo Ward will be divided into two main sections. Approximately 70% of the area, or 13.5 hectares, is designated as open space including Thu Le Lake, squares, and public greenery. The plan proposes removing surrounding fences to allow direct access from Kim Ma, Dao Tan, and Nguyen Van Ngoc streets. The remaining 30%, or 5.4 hectares, will serve as a core area for breeding and displaying animals, including dedicated zones for birds and other wildlife.
Implementation of this plan may require the relocation of approximately 37 households, totaling about 150 residents, currently living along the Kim Ma and Cau Giay routes. The Giang Vo Ward People's Committee is currently seeking feedback from organizations, individuals, and the local community regarding the 1/500 scale planning adjustment.
