Thurgau police intercept five impaired drivers
The Thurgau Cantonal Police reported several incidents involving impaired drivers between the evening of October 3 and the morning of October 4, 2026. During this period, five drivers were removed from the road due to alcohol consumption or general incapacity to drive.
Specific incidents included a 60-year-old Swiss man with a high blood alcohol level in Frauenfeld and a 39-year-old Polish man in Felben-Wellhausen who failed to stop for police despite sirens and lights. The latter was also driving despite a license revocation. In Arbon, a collision involving a 59-year-old Slovenian driver resulted in a minor injury to a passenger and several thousand francs in property damage.
Additionally, police identified an Austrian driver as unfit to drive in Frauenfeld and a 23-year-old Romanian driver who drove a vehicle into a sheep pasture in Bürglen, causing significant property damage.
