Thuringia regional updates: Infrastructure and cultural events in Gotha and Gera
Various local events and infrastructure updates are taking place in the Thuringia region. In Gotha, the Schulstraße bus stop in Wandersleben has been renovated to be barrier-free following construction that lasted from July to September. The project cost approximately 265,000 euros, with 200,000 euros provided by the Thuringian State Office for Construction and Transport.
Gotha is also hosting several cultural activities, including open ateliers for local artists and the finissage of the contemporary art exhibition ‘GESTERN – HEUTE – MORGEN’ at the Hannah Höch Art Forum. Additionally, the Gotha-Uelleben youth fire brigade achieved success in recent regional competitions.
In Gera, roadwork in Bieblach-Ost on Am Speitewitz street will result in a full closure from September 21 to November 7 to complete asphalt surfacing and create new parking areas. On the cultural front, the Gera Library is hosting a reading and discussion with poet and prose writer Annerose Kirchner to celebrate her 75th birthday. Meanwhile, the Metropol cinema is participating in the ‘Letsdok’ documentary film days with a screening of the film ‘Fassaden’ by Alina Cyranek.
