Thuringian castles host events for World Children's Day

Various historical sites in Thuringia, Germany, hosted special events to celebrate World Children's Day.

Schloss Heidecksburg in Rudolstadt offered free admission to families between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The program included creative stations for making crowns and bracelets, fencing practice on the garden terrace, and theatrical performances of ‘Cinderella’, ‘Snow White’, and ‘The Dancing Shoes’. The event was organized by the Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation and the Heidecksburg State Museum. Additionally, Schloss Schwarzburg offered a digital scavenger hunt for teenagers.

At Burg Posterstein, the eighth annual hobby horse tournament took place. Despite rainy weather, approximately 40 children participated in dressage, sprints, and obstacle courses within the castle's new north wing construction site. The event featured various age groups performing synchronized routines and competitive courses.
