Thuringian train assault: 14‑year‑old injured by rival football fan

On Tuesday evening a 22‑year‑old man, identified as a fan of a rival football club, attacked a 14‑year‑old girl from the Eichsfeld region while she was travelling on a regional train in Thuringia, Germany. The attacker first verbally abused the girl because of her training‑clothing colors, later threatened her and threw a glass bottle that missed nearby passengers. He then struck the girl, causing facial injuries.

Several fellow passengers intervened, shielding the victim and eventually subduing the aggressor at Mühlhausen station. Police arrived shortly thereafter, took the man into custody, and noted his prior offenses linked to football‑related incidents. The teenager received medical treatment at the scene.
