Thuringian triathlon teams perform strongly in Immenstadt

Despite severe storms at the Großer Alpsee near Immenstadt that disrupted schedules and damaged facilities, Thuringian triathlon teams maintained strong performances during the penultimate stop of the 1. Triathlon-Bundesliga 2026.

The Weimarer Ingenieure secured fifth place in the 16-team field, led by Alexander Kull, who finished eighth behind winner Tjebbe Kaindl. The Thuringian women's team also achieved a notable result, placing eighth to secure fourth place heading into the season finale in Hannover.

Individual highlights included Theo Sonneberg's first top-20 Bundesliga finish with 17th place. The event, which was shortened from a sprint to a supersprint due to weather conditions, also saw Phil Pfeifer finish sixth despite a cycling crash.
