Thùy Chi releases folk-inspired music video ‘Yêu lắm miền Tây’

Singer Thùy Chi has released a new music video titled ‘Yêu lắm miền Tây’, marking a musical shift toward folk-inspired sounds of the Mekong Delta. The project is a significant collaboration as it features her father, songwriter Trần Minh, who has worked in the arts for over 40 years and has been a primary musical influence on her since childhood.

The music video incorporates traditional elements, including imagery of the Mekong River, lotus ponds, and ripe rice fields, accompanied by instruments such as the đàn kìm, đàn bầu, and đàn tranh. The production also features a cameo by artist Vũ Linh in a traditional cải lương performance segment. Thùy Chi described the project as the beginning of a new musical journey focused on storytelling through the beauty of her country.
