Éthylia brings interactive alcohol testing technology to Quebec
French technology company Éthylia is entering the Quebec market through a strategic partnership with Alco Prévention Canada. The collaboration aims to modernize drunk driving prevention by introducing interactive testing kiosks to bars, restaurants, festivals, and other social venues.
Unlike traditional breathalyzers, the Éthylia system utilizes an 11-inch touchscreen tablet connected to an electronic breathalyzer. The process involves an interactive interface where users answer questions and receive rapid results displayed via a color-coded system. To encourage responsible decision-making, the platform provides personalized prevention messages and can suggest safe alternatives such as taxis or transport services.
The technology also includes a management platform that allows organizers to access anonymized statistics, transforming testing data into actionable prevention tools.
