Thyssenkrupp shares rise amid EU steel protections and restructuring

Thyssenkrupp shares have seen significant growth, rising over 50 percent since the start of the year. This upward trend is supported by European Union trade protection measures for grain-oriented electrical steel, which are set to remain in effect until February 2027 to prevent market distortions.

Alongside these external protections, the industrial group is undergoing internal restructuring. The Automotive Technology division is reorganizing its chassis business by bundling steering, damping, and axle solutions into a unified structure to better integrate global development and technology capacities. This reorganization includes planned job cuts of approximately 160 to 180 positions within the chassis subsidiary.

Financial analysts from Deutsche Bank and Jefferies have maintained positive outlooks, with Deutsche Bank issuing a ‘Buy’ rating and a price target of 18 euros, identifying the steel division as a primary driver for the group's valuation.
