thyssenkrupp Steel sets medium-term EBITDA and margin targets
thyssenkrupp Steel has announced medium-term financial targets aimed at increasing profitability through ongoing restructuring. The division is targeting an adjusted EBITDA of at least 1.2 billion euros with a margin of at least 11 percent. Additionally, the company expects to achieve a positive free cash flow.
To reach these goals, the company is implementing various cost-efficiency programs and restructuring measures, which are expected to contribute more than 800 million euros to the EBITDA. As part of these efforts, approximately 4,000 of the 11,000 planned job cuts have already been completed. The steel division currently employs around 26,000 people.
Strategically, thyssenkrupp continues to pursue the independence of its European steel business, potentially retaining a minority stake. The company also noted that it expects to benefit from a more stable European steel market and an improved regulatory environment.
