T.I. calls Verzuz a ‘poor people activity’ and later clarifies his remarks

Rapper T.I. told the Joe Budden Podcast that he has no interest in taking part in a Verzuz showdown, describing the format as “poor people activity” and saying there is “no money” in it. He said he would only consider a battle if the financial terms made sense and added that he believes no other rapper could beat him in such a contest.

After co‑founder Timbaland reacted to the comment, T.I. posted an Instagram Story video to clarify that he was not denigrating the Verzuz platform itself, but rather the back‑and‑forth battle element that he finds unappealing. He reaffirmed his stance while promoting his upcoming album Kill The King, slated for release on June 26.
